The caste system is an ancient social class system, the most representative of which is the caste system culture in India, and this culture is based on the Hindu concept of reincarnation. The caste system includes four major castes. Indians are divided into Brahmins (Brahmins priests), Kshatriyas (Kshatriyas warriors), Vaisyas (Vaisyas farmers and merchants) and Sudras (Sudras slaves or laborers) according to their class level. In marriage, Judiciary, social welfare and status will vary greatly depending on caste.
As for Dalits, they have been excluded from the caste system and have been working in the lowest jobs for generations. Among India’s current population of 1.36 billion, at least 200 million are Dalits. Most of them have low social status, poverty, and are women. They also face severe discrimination and personal safety.
After India separated from the British colony in 1947, the caste system was officially abolished in law.
